ABSTRACT

Digital nomads live a new way of life that creates an ideal balance of work and leisure. Research on the phenomenon of digital nomads is still in its early stages and is not fully framed as a proper research category. Therefore, the present research aims to explore research on digital nomadism by study leading countries, authors and themes that can become a foundation for future research. This study is exploratory and interpretive - using bibliometrics, we systematically searched all articles indexed in the Web of Science database. The study presents the evolution of scholarly production, and identifies key authors and countries that have the potential to become pioneers in digital nomad research. We identified 17 core concepts of digital nomad research as well as concepts that have not yet received much attention from scientists. Additionally, our study provides a framework for research on digital nomadism and presents topics for future research: we determine how the 17 core concepts identified in this study affect the lives of digital nomads, research into legislation that directly affects digital nomads, study how COVID-19 has changed working styles, and offer a bibliometric analysis of data on digital nomads from other databases.

ABSTRACT

Modern agriculture businesses must reflect emerging visions and strategies that can be formalized through business models. During the last 20 years, many themes were addressed in the literature on business models in agriculture, which can confuse the proper understanding of this issue. However, neither study was interested in the key themes of this area. The presented paper systematically reviews the domain of business models in agriculture, aiming to provide information about key themes and show areas for future research. The authors analyzed 1204 articles with the use of bibliometric analysis, multiple correspondence analysis, and clustering to create a thematic map, which represents the importance and expansion of themes. The results of this paper indicated the key themes in the domain of business models in agriculture in the last 20 years - sustainability, food security, circular economy, innovation, urban agriculture, rural development, climate change, blockchain, precision agriculture, internet of things and profitability. To develop a full picture of business models in agriculture, additional studies will be needed to: investigate the influence of the triple bottom line on the change in agriculture business models;determine how the business model adjusts to urban agriculture;use of IoT, precisions agriculture, and blockchain in agriculture business models;explore the effect of changing business model on profitability in agriculture;more precisely define terms and classifications used in agriculture;study the application of new technologies and methods to different crops and identify their effectiveness within precision farming;and study the changes of the business model in the context of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

ABSTRACT

In the light of the recent pandemic, the workplace has been changed. People from around the world have moved to the virtual world and virtual teams have become a critical part of innovation in most companies. The virtual team has been with us for many years thanks to the development of information and communication technologies, but the Covid-19 pandemic changed the working environment of millions of people from day to day. Virtual teams can be beneficial for employees as well as for companies, but also can bring many problems for the functionality of the team. Transformation to the virtual world is challenging innovation and it is not easy to go from a workplace environment to a virtual. For that reason, it is essential to investigate how companies and employees understand this change from office work to the virtual environment. The presented paper identified the main communities and factors that Twitter users used to describe their experience with virtual teams through hashtags during the Covid-19 pandemic. We investigated tweets with #virtualteam or #virtualteams to described and understand the virtual team communities. Data from the social network Twitter were analysed and compared for the years 2019 and 2020. For the social network analysis, we used SMAHR framework. SMAHR is a framework that is focused on social media analysis based on hashtag research. We detected two communities on the social network Twitter in 2019 – “Management of virtual teams” and understanding virtual teams as a “Different way of business”. In 2020 we spotted five communities on Twitter – “Effect of Covid-19 on the workplace”, “Virtual meetings”, “Digital transformation”, and two micro-communities. Future research should focus on a wider scope of searching hashtags;linguistic and etymologic research to define terms connected to virtual teams;a deeper understanding of communities and factors described by presented paper;study of communities on Twitter after the current pandemic;examination of communities on other social media networks (e.g., on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or ResearchGate). Our research also opened the question about possible bias in social networking analysis.
